Artist Profile: Andrea Pratt

As a painter I have explored various styles, subject matter and mediums, but the natural world has always been my primary inspiration. My art practice is, broadly speaking, an investigation of the western Canadian landscape, but I am also fascinated by exploring natural symbolism and themes using ‘primitive’ motifs and patterns that I have developed and experimented with for years. Recently I have returned to my abstract ‘roots’ – where I started when I was working towards my BFA in Visual Art from the University of Victoria.

I am a recent addition to the thriving arts and education communities here on the Sunshine Coast and just recently moved into my newly-completed studio. I am inspired by the BuyArtFeedKids project and look forward to being involved. Please visit my website at
